The design of this house is nothing more and nothing less than the central page of TC Cuadernos - Serie Dedalo, the main architecture magazine in Spain and Portugal.
The house is located at 2800 meters above sea level, on top of a hill in the urban limit of Cuenca, in one of the two areas of the city with the highest added value. The design of this building acts as a transitional element between the immediate landscape and the visuals of the city, so its location was rigorously chosen.
The structural system of the building is the organizer of the spaces, resulting in totally clean and ample interior space. The project has been created with the superposition of rectangular slabs on sloping terrain where the lowest slab works as a foundation in one part and as a roof in another. On the next one sits 5 load-bearing walls that separate the bedrooms and finishes in a large overhang that creates a terrace for informal dining.
This property needs to be seen to be believed.
